Description
This page describes how to partition a hard drive, and create, or delete, the SSD / HDD into a plurality of regions.

Method of operation
How to create a partition
*the screen that appears in the example may be different from the screen displayed when trouble shooting.
1. Right-click the Start button.

2. From Quick Links select “Disk Management”.

You can access the “Disk Management” screen using keyboard short cuts.
1. Press [Windows] key and the [X] key at the same time.
2. From the Quick Links menu select Disk Management.
3. “Disk Management” screen appears.
No further work is required.

3. From “Disk Management”, right-click the C drive (Press and hold on the touch screen), and select Shrink Volume from the menu that appears.

4. A notification that says “Querying volume for available shrink space please wait”  will be displayed as the drive computes available space

5. From the “Shrink C”, screen Specify volume size, and then select the “Shrink” button.

​6. (On the touch panel Press and hold) Right-click the unallocated space that was created, and then select New Simple Volume from the menu that appears.

​7. Select the Next button on The New simple volume wizard.

​8. “From the specified volume size” screen, enter any size between the maximum disk space from the minimum disk space in to the “simple volume size” column, and then select the Next button.

​9. On the “assign drive letter or path” screen, specify a drive letter or free folder, to assign the partition you want to create and then, select the Next button.

​10. On the “format partiton” screen, specify the format of the partition you want to create, and then select the Next button.

​11. Choose Finish on the “new simple completion of Volume Wizard” screen.

​12. Please wait a moment while the partition that you created is started.

13. When formatting is complete, you will see the [volume (* :).
※ * you will see the drive letter that you set in step 9.

How to delete a partition

1. Right-click the Start button.

2. From the Quick Links menu select Disk Management.

“Disk Management” screen can also be accessed using the keyboard shortcut.
1. Press [Windows] key and the [X] key at the same time.
2. From the Quick Links menu screen, select Disk Management.
3. The “Disk Management” screen will appear.
No further work is required.

3. On “Disk Management” screen, (press and hold on touch panel) Right-click the partition you want to delete, and select Delete Volume from the menu that appears.

​4. Choose Yes on  the “Deleting a simple volume” screen.

​5. The partition is deleted, and is displayed as Unassigned.

※ If you undo the partition that was split, after you delete a partition, please enter the extension of the drive.

Precautions
When you delete a partition, all data in the partition will be all lost.
