  • Keep the amount of charge low.  “Battery friendly charging mode” is a function that extends battery life.  You can set your battery to charge to 50% or 80%, which will shorten the amount of time your battery will last without charging.  However, it also extends your battery life.  Please refer to the Q&A below for more information.

  • Unplug the AC adapter when not using the PC for a prolonged period.

How to check battery life (Win 10)
1. Run VAIO Control Center
2. Select Power-Battery
3. Select Detail under the Battery column
Battery status will be displayed as Excellent, Normal, Attention, or Warning.  It is recommended that the battery is replaced when it reaches the “Attention” status.
