Description
The update programs can be obtained through the update program pages.
Please apply the obtained programs according to the contents of this article.

Notes

  • Please only uninstall the drivers you are directed to uninstall.  Uninstalling additional drivers may cause your system to become unstable.
  • If you do not uninstall the drivers, your system may become unstable.
  • For some update programs, a related update program may exist, so refer to the precautions, and then apply.
  • Some update programs may not be applied by the following procedures. In this case, please refer to the contents noted in the update program page of that update for specific directions.
  • Function may become unstable if update programs for other OS or other models are applied.
  • When applying a program, first login as “Computer’s administrator” or “Administrator” user. If the dialog boxes of either “User account restriction”, or “File Security Warning” are displayed after attempting to run the executable, please be sure that you are either on the administrator account or able to run programs as the administrator.

 

How to apply the upgrade with a .exe file
If the downloaded file is a .exe file  please apply by the following procedures.
1.     Please close all applications running on Windows.
2.     Double click on the downloaded file
3.     When the dialog box is displayed, check the contents and select “OK”.  There may be times when the dialog box is not displayed.
4.     When the user account restriction screen is displayed, select “Yes”. The program will begin its application.

Notes

  • Nothing may be displayed during application.  Please do not perform any operations and wait until it says “The setup has completed successfully”.
  • If a dialog is displayed, please follow the directions and proceed with the installation.
  • If a black screen (command prompt) is displayed, do not perform any keyboard operations, etc., and leave as is.  The application may fail if you attempt to perform operations.

 

5. When it says “The setup has completed successfully.”, select “OK”.
6. Please restart the computer.

Notes
After restarting, if it says “The computer needs to be restarted in order to apply these changes.”, select “Restart now”.
All operations are now complete.



How to initiate the upgrade from a .zip file
If the downloaded file is a .zip file, please apply by the following procedures.
1. Please close all applications running on Windows.
2. Right click the downloaded file and select “Open all” from the menu displayed.
3. When the dialog “Open compressed (ZIP format) folder” is displayed, check “Display opened file when finished”, and select “Open”.
4. Double click the “install.vbs” file within the opened folder.
5. When the program update starts, please wait patiently.

Notes

  • If a black screen (command prompt) is displayed, do not perform any keyboard operations, etc., and leave as is. The application may fail if you perform operations, etc.
  • The program application may take time.
  • Please do not turn off the computer power while the program application runs.
  • Depending on the program, the dialog box “Opened file – security warning” may be displayed during application. Refer to their contents and move forward by following to the directions.
  • If the program update appears to be stuck, the dialog box may be hidden behind another window.  Please look over your taskbar icons to bring up any hiding windows.

 

6. If it says “The installation completed successfully. Please restart the computer.”, select “OK”.
7. Please restart the computer.

Notes

  • After restarting, if it says “The computer needs to be restarted in order to apply these changes.”, select [Restart now].
  • If the “Opened file – security warning” dialog is displayed after restarting, it is displayed in order to begin the service related to the installed driver, so check “Always warn when opening this file”, and select “Run”

All operations are now complete.

How to verify that the upgrade has been applied successfully
Please refer to the following for details on how to verify that the update program is applied.

When verifying the installation via the Device manager
Please refer to the following for details on how to verify that the update program is applied.
1. Open the device manager.
2. Open the properties of the device you are updating
3. Open the driver tab.
4. If the version listed is the same as the version in the upgrade, then the upgrade has been applied correctly.

 When verifying “File property”
Please refer to the following for details on how to verify that the update program is applied.
1. Right click the file of the address noted under Verification destination of application completion and select “property” from the menu displayed.
2. When the property is displayed, click the details tab.
3. If the version listed is the same as the version in the upgrade, then the upgrade has been applied correctly. 

When verifying “Program and function”
For programs noted as “Program and function” you may verify that the application was correctly applied by following these steps.
1. Open the Control panel.
2. Select “Program uninstallation” or “Program and function”.
3. When the Program and function screen is displayed, select the program noted in the verification destination of application completion.
4. If the version listed is the same as the version in the upgrade, then the upgrade has been applied correctly.

When verifying text file
Please refer to the following for details on how to verify that the update program is applied.
1. Open the text file of the address noted under the verification destination of application completion.
2. If the version listed is the same as the version in the upgrade, then the upgrade has been applied correctly.
