Some models include the hybrid power boost technology, which allows the PC to use both the AC adapter, and battery power in order to maximize the performance of the CPU.  When subjected to peak loads the battery is reduced, to support the battery connect the AC adapter. When in power boost charging of the battery will be interrupted once the load decreases the charge will resume. Please use with confidence because this behavior is normal.
